The two that interest us most are the Visual cortex (area in the brain that creates visual images) and the Amygdala (which tests information for an element of danger). The latter can make us feel fear simultaneously while we are still creating a visual representation of what frightened us.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Body language and facial expressions evolved much earlier than verbal <br \/>language. Babies already have this skill as early as they can focus their vision on their parents\u2019 faces. A baby can identify positive facial emotions earlier and more accurately than negative ones (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC4873105\/#r9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Boyatzis, Chazan, &amp; Ting, 1993<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">;\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC4873105\/#r11\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Camras &amp; Allison, 1985<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">;\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC4873105\/#r57\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Widen &amp; Russell, 2003<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">). Their accuracy increases between 3 and 7 years of age. The ability to recognize emotional facial expressions is innate in us<\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\" data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\" data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Some studies have provided convincing evidence that the facial expressions for basic emotions are universal. It means that the basic facial expressions are shared between all humans on the planet, whether you\u2019re an Eskimo, European, or from a tribe in the Brazilian jungle. <\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit; But we already have some feelings as evidence: \u201cHey, something is not right!\u201d Even tiny details in the surrounding environment, especially in people\u2019s faces, can significantly impact us.
